CR7 Museum
The gallery of trophies of Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, one of the best football players ever, is located near the Casino da Madeira, which is an iconic architectural masterpiece by Oscar Niemeyer.
The Madeiran chose Funchal, more precisely Av. Sá Carneiro - Praça do Mar Nº27, to exhibit his trophies and to tell his story to the world. The Museum is called Museu CR7. It opened on December 15, 2013.
The space measures 400 square meters and displays 150 trophies that Cristiano Ronaldo won since the beginning of his career. The floors are paved Portuguese style in black and decorated with the symbol CR7.
In this museum, you can enjoy photographs of key moments in Ronaldo’s career, videos and even a wax statue, which is his fourth, after those exhibited at "Madame Tussauds" in London and in wax museums in New York and Madrid.
Will certainly enjoy seeing trophies earned as a youth in local clubs such as Andorinha and Nacional, as well as professional trophies earned while playing for Sporting, Manchester United and Real Madrid. Some of the biggest attractions of the exhibition are the Ballons D’Or won in 2008 and 2013 and two Golden Shoes (awarded in 2007/08 and 2010/11).
Among the awards on view in the gallery are also those of The Best Player in the Spanish League in the 2012-13 season, awarded by the newspaper "A Marca", and the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament, awarded by the Spanish League.
