Vine and Wine Museum

If you appreciate wine and are interested in furthering your knowledge on the subject, then the Museum of Vine and Wine should be included in your itinerary.

The museum is part of the Experimental Viticulture Centre of Arco de São Jorge, in the municipality of Santana. It is an interactive space where you can watch actual aspects of winemaking such as pruning, and learn about the grape varieties that are grown here.

Taste various local products, such as the honey cake and traditional biscuits, in a converted old winery featuring three wine presses.

Outside, visitors can enjoy the beauty of the surrounding gardens and recreational areas. The Museum of Vine and Wine also has a shop of 'sweets and traditions', where visitors can buy homemade bread, cakes, honey biscuits and regional handicraft.
