In case you need to contact emergency services in Madeira, you can do it free of charge, using landlines and mobile phones, by dialing the Single European Emergency Number: 112.



Your call will be answered immediately by the emergency centers that would dispatch medical personnel, police or firefighters, depending on the type of emergency.



The islands of Madeira and Porto Santo have several emergency numbers, if you need any information or even help. Of note are the Civil Defense Department, the Fire Brigade, the Sea Rescue (SANAS), and the Police (PSP).
