You don’t need any special vaccinations to travel to Madeira. The archipelago is equipped with all essential services in health care. Emergency care in public hospitals and private medical offices can provide support to EU citizens and visitors of other nationalities.

The Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital is located in Funchal, in the Cruz de Carvalho area and the hospital of Marmeleiros is in Monte. The region also has a Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Centre at the Hospital Dr. Nelio Mendonça.
