Ponta do Pargo Lighthouse Viewpoint - Madeira

The lighthouse of Ponta do Pargo is situated at the further west edge of the island of Madeira, in Calheta and exists since June 1922.

This infrastructure has the particularity of having been built on top of a rock dubbed Ponta da Vigia. It is the highest lighthouse of Portugal because of its 14 meters high and it is situated at an elevation of 312 meters from the sea.

The importance of this lighthouse is considerable, since this coastline presents danger to the navigation. In addition to the utility, this lighthouse is also the stage for breathtaking sunsets.
