Madeira cultural festivals

Madeira Island has many cultural festivals like the Madeira Music Festival, the Regional Meeting of the Philharmonic Bands, the Atlantic Roots Festival, the Madeira Organ Festival, the Jazz Festival, the Madeira Film Festival and the Festival Madeira Dig.

As you can see there is much diversity like the Literary Festival Madeira in March and in November the International Film Festival of Funchal that is an event that aims to publicize regional filmmaking and filmmakers that usually do not reach the theatres in the archipelago.

In May, Calheta welcomes the Mudas Fest. This international festival of short films without-dialogue has the particularity of taking place in House of Mudas that is an internationally awarded building with a dream view and a magical atmosphere. In December, the Madeira Micro International Film Festival enters the scene in the emblematic Cinema Paraíso, in the village of Ponta do Sol. Numerous musical performances with national and international artists are prepared thinking about the local youth.
